The MediaRelate project has derived in part
from research with young people carried out by David Buckingham
and Sara Bragg at the Centre for the Study of Children, Youth
and Media at the Institute of Education, London and funded by
the Advertising Standards Authority, the BBC, the British Board
of Film Classification, the Broadcasting Standards Commission,
and The Independent Television Commission. This research is reported
in the book, "Young People, Sex and the Media: The Facts
of Life?" Palgrave, Macmillan 2004, and in two reports that
can be downloaded below.

The project held a seminar on 'Young People, Sex and the Media:
new educational strategies' in London on the 23-24 September 2003,
attended by a range of experts, from across Europe, in the fields
of media research, media education and sex or personal education.
